Based out of Boulder, Colorado, Mike's Camera is one of the largest camera, photography and imaging stores from Colorado to Calfornia. They purchased multiple Wolf Camera stores in the last few years to grow from 3 stores in Colorado to 13 across Colorado and California. I designed & created all in-store & exterior signage, all magazine, newspaper & print ads, vehicle graphics, email newsletter, digital & website graphics. Here's some of the larger projects I achieved while I was there.
Due to their fast growth, Mike's needed an immediate solution to ensure consistent branding for all of their stores and advertising- in-house and outsourced. I created their first Identity Branding Guidelines for in-house and outsourced design.
With thirteen stores there are many different variables to making window signage that is consistent with a look, yet sized differently for each. Some were walk-up, some were on freeways/interstates and each needed something, clean, graphic and to the point.
Sometimes, there was a need for signage to simply cover up some bad spots- as in our Greenwood Village store that had displays backed to windows, making the store look closed.
Almost always, the signage would have to coincide with instore displays and print advertising materials. As in Christmas 2013 where I created the signage concept and carried it through into all of the print material- including the four 12 page inserts between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I have covered many events for Mike's Camera, but none bigger than the Spring Colorado Photo Expo 2013 at the Amazing Adventures Expo. With over 10 vendors plus our personal services and products, I created signage for booths and displays for all resources: including headers, banners, backdrops, directional signage and aesthetic displays that created our own expo, within an expo.
